About
I am Brandon Loos, and Flame Tale is just me.
No account manager, no junior doing the work while somebody senior sold it to you, and nobody to hand you off to. If we work together, you work with me.
Twelve years, mostly on the boring half
I spent about twelve years doing marketing for large consumer brands. Most of it was on the retention side rather than the advertising side, which means the unglamorous work: email programs, lifecycle, the reasons somebody comes back a second and sixth time instead of once. I have also spent time inside a game studio, which is where the gaming practice comes from.
That work came with budgets most local businesses will never see, and teams of specialists to run it. The useful part was never the budget. It was learning which three things move the number and which nine are theatre.
Why this exists
I would finish a week of that and then talk to friends running businesses here, and hear the opposite story every time. A boosted post nobody could explain. An agency retainer that produced a monthly report and no customers. A website somebody paid four thousand dollars for that does not have a phone number on it.
None of them needed a campaign. They needed somebody to look at how people actually find and contact them, say which two things to fix, and be honest that a couple of those fixes are free and take ten minutes.
That gap is the whole reason Flame Tale exists. It is also why every price is on the website, and why the audit costs nothing and comes with no commitment. If the answer is that you do not need me, that is a perfectly good answer and I would rather say it early.
How I work
- A small number of clients at a time. The work stays good or the model does not work. I would rather turn something down than do it badly.
- Fixed scope, fixed price, a defined finish. Nothing renews on its own and there is nothing to cancel.
- Your accounts stay yours. Everything goes in your name on your card, and I show your team how to change it. You should never be stuck waiting on me to update your own opening hours.
- I will tell you not to buy things. If the website is not your problem, I am not selling you a website.
- Some things I will not do at all. No filtering who gets asked for a review, no paying for reviews, no texting people who never agreed to it. Clients ask for all three. The answer does not change.
The rest of it
Based in Knoxville. I work across Tennessee and remotely where it suits the job, but I keep a bias toward businesses I can drive to, because standing in the room is worth a lot.
I was a competitive gamer long before it was a career anybody took seriously, which is the honest origin of the gaming work. It means I can tell a brand whether a campaign will land in that world or get screenshotted, because I have been on both sides of it.
Start with an audit
It costs nothing, it takes me under an hour, and there is nothing to cancel. You can see exactly what one looks like first.
